In conjunction with this year's Google I/O 2018 Developers Conference, Google has now revealed its third generation of Tensor Processing Units for use in its “TPU Pods.” For those who may not already know, those Pods are Google's supercomputer arrays purpose-built for machine learning applications. Specifically, TPUs are utilized to train A.I. on an accelerated timeline. Google Maps Gaining AR Street View, 'For You' Recommendations, and More

Google today outlined several new features coming to Google Maps at its Google I/O developer conference in Mountain View, California this morning. First and foremost, this summer, Google Maps will be updated with a new personalized "For You" section that offers up recommendations based on your interests.
The Maps app is gaining a dedicated "For You" tab that is designed to "tell you what you need to know about the neighborhoods you care about." It will feature new restaurants opening nearby, trending spots, and more, based on places you've rated and places you've visited.

Google Maps unveils its first-ever augmented reality interface

Google used its Tuesday I/O keynote to unveil a pretty killer new feature that may one day come to Google Maps: camera-assisted walking navigation.
"Here's how it could-will look like," Google VP Aparna Chennapragada told the I/O crowd when unveiling a sample interface that combines Google Maps' 2D interface with the view from your smartphone's camera lens. A small semisphere of map data appeared at the bottom of the interface, while the camera perspective included bold images of where to turn and go-and floating panels that show information about businesses in your direct view.
