Skype's development history is a little checkered; a wide range of clients has been developed with disparate features and a lack of clarity over direction. This has been especially true on Windows, where two different clients were available-the "Classic" client is a Win32 application that can trace its heritage back to the days before Microsoft bought Skype, while the "modern" client shipped through the Microsoft Store-each with its own interfaces and features.

Skype plans to introduce a new feature that should have been there a long time ago - video call recording. More importantly, the new feature will be available on all compatible platforms and it will be cloud-based The Verge reports.
Call recording is completely cloud-based, and as soon as you start recording, everyone in the call is notified that the call is being recorded. Call recordings combine everyone's video as well as any screens shared during the call.

You'd think that call recording would be one of the basic features that Skype would offer but that's not the case. Almost 15 years after the service was first release, a call recording feature has just now been confirmed for Skype and it will be released later this month.
