Going BIG: EVGA's SuperNova 2000W G+ Power Supply

11 monthes ago   |   By Anand Tech

For the systems that run many big PCIe accelerators, multiple processors, and also power a small heating system, EVGA is producing the power supply for you. Coming in at 2000W, only the largest cases need apply.
This unit is rated for 80-Plus Gold even at the harder-to-achieve European 230V setting, and is built on a single-rail 12V design good for 166.6 A. For connectors, a total of 10 VGA cables will be in play, although we were not told how many of those would be 6-pin or 6+2-pin. There will be plenty to go around, for sure.

Also on EVGA's Power Supply list was this little 80 PLUS-rated Gold unit. The aim here for a super small set of power supplies for 450W, 550W, 650W. Obviously, at this range, there are silent PSUs available, but EVGA is on the side of size. These units are near completion and set for a July launch. Two of the connectors are for PCIe, two for SATA, one for peripherals, and one for CPU.

EVGA Super G7 1000W Power Supply: Going for Small

EVGA Super G7 1000W Power Supply: Going for Small

11 monthes ago   |   By Anand Tech

One of the interesting things out of EVGA is their upcoming Super G7 power supply line. It is built on a new power supply platform that looks at making the power supply smaller - EVGA stated that they are using a 40% smaller transformer and SMT type mosfets to assist with this. Other design decisions were also made for thermals and efficiency, and EVGA will be offering Gold and Platinum versions of the new hardware. Also, there will be new Over Power Protection methods, using better monitoring algorithms , to predict if users might over stress 1000W.
