Microsoft Shows How Its xCloud Game Streaming Service Would Work On Android

Microsoft has revealed that the public trials for its Project xCloud streaming gaming service would begin later this year, although no specific time frame was given. The company's Gaming Cloud Corporate Vice President, Kareem Choudhry, recently blogged about the progress the company has made since first unveiling it back in October. Additionally, he also demoed the gaming streaming service during the company's Inside Xbox event.

Valve just announced that its Steam Link Anywhere software is now in open beta testing on Android, Raspberry Pi and Steam Link devices. As a software successor to the original Steam Link hardware that Valve killed off at the end of last year , Steam Link Anywhere allows you to stream any game from your Steam library to whichever of those aforementioned devices you choose. Valve today announced an expansion of its game-streaming app Steam Link, now named Steam Link Anywhere .
The original Steam Link app let users stream PC games on Steam to a mobile device within their home, but Steam Link Anywhere lets users stream games from their PC to any compatible device with internet service, excluding Apple devices.
Apple rejected the original Steam Link app due to "business conflicts," while the app went on to see a release on Android.
