Surface ‘Phones released; Headphones, that is

Microsoft has unveiled a new member of the Surface family: the Surface Headphones.
The rather surprising addition to the Surface range is a set of noise-cancelling Bluetooth headphones. They're large, over-ear headphones with soft, comfortable ear cups. Each ear cup has a spinning dial: one to control the volume, and the other to control the level of noise cancellation. The headphones know when they're on your head and automatically pause your music when you take them off. And they contain four microphones to pick up clear audio for talking to Cortana or...

Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 is an uninspired boring upgrade that still lacks USB-C

If you want a Windows 10 laptop, you can do much better than Microsoft's buggy Surface devices. Companies such as Dell, Lenovo, and HP make some excellent notebooks these days. I mean, look, Microsoft's homegrown computers aren't totally bad, but they are a bit overpriced and historically have had terrible bugs and driver issues. For a while, the much-respected Consumer Reports refused to recommend the computers - something on which they've recently done a "180." Today, with surprisingly little fanfare in New York City, Microsoft unveiled some new Surface devices, including the Surface Pro...

Microsoft Surface Pro 6 Unveiled In New Matte Black Finish

4 monthes ago   |   By Ubergizmo

If a sleek and stealthy black looking Surface device was something you've always thought that Microsoft should have launched, you might have been excited when you saw the leak of a black Surface tablet. The good news is that the leaks are accurate because Microsoft has since officially unveiled its new Surface Pro 6 tablet which now comes in a matte black finish. Microsoft is calling the Surface Pro 6 its most powerful Surface Pro model yet, which we certainly hope is true as it will be the company's latest model. It packs an Intel 8th generation Core processor that Microsoft says will be...

Microsoft
I know, dear reader, that some of you do not care. You do not understand the fuss about Thunderbolt 3; you view it as, at best, a nice-to-have feature and not a dealbreaker. But I'm afraid I am going to stick to my guns. Premium portable systems should include some number of Thunderbolt 3 ports; it's not optional, it's mandatory. The high-speed interconnect is really starting to show its value; external GPU solutions are mature and widespread, there are all manner of high-speed Thunderbolt 3 storage options out there, and single cable monitor-dock-charger solutions are either on...

Microsoft Launcher 5.0 brings Timeline support, new Feed UI, more

4 monthes ago   |   By Phone Arena

Microsoft made a couple of interesting announcements earlier today during its Surface event, but one, in particular, may have been overlooked since it's not related with any of the new devices revealed today: Microsoft Launcher 5.0.
The new version of the Android launcher is now making its way to beta testers and will be rolled out to everyone in the coming weeks. The most important addition to Microsoft Launcher is Timeline support, which allows users to sync activity between their PC and phone when signed into the same Microsoft Account.
For example, if you're working in an Office ...
