Amazon Rolling Out ‘Answer Updates' Feature To Alexa

It seems like Amazon is testing a new, interesting feature that is expected to arrive to its Alexa voice assistant, as it will make it possible for Alexa to notify you when it learns a new answer. This info was actually confirmed by Amazon, Voicebot.ai says, while the company also confirmed that the feature will be rolling out to users in the US. Interestingly enough, you can already activate that feature, if you'd like, all you need to do is say “Alexa, enable Answer Updates”.

It seems like not many voice assistant owners use those devices in order to shop, which is probably something that voice assistant device manufacturers will want to change, especially Amazon. According to The Information, only around 2-percent of consumers who own Alexa-powered devices have bought something using their voice this year. Now, if consider that Amazon sold around 50 million Alexa device in that time period, it puts things into perspective, and it makes it quite likely Amazon will want to change that moving forward.

The days of smart assistants shrugging at your trivia questions are numbered. Amazon is currently rolling out a new support feature to its Alexa-enabled devices, which will dredge up previous questions you asked when Alexa gains the necessary knowledge to answer them. Users were already able to keep track of their conversations with Alexa in the Alexa smartphone app, which lists every question put to the assistant and the answer given in response.
