What's the difference between IP67 and IP68?

7 monthes ago   |   By iMore

Best answer: When it comes to Apple's latest iPhones, the difference between IP67 and IP68 is how far into the water a device can be safely submerged. Both protect your device from submersion for up to 30 minutes, but the depth is different.
Apple: iPhone XS
Apple : iPhone XR
IP67 and IP68 both mean that your device is water resistant, it's just a matter of degrees
When looking at the IP rating, the '6' and the '7' or '8' are actually two different numbers. In the rating, the first number refers to a product's protection against solid matter, while the second number deals with liquid...

Leakers Have “One More Thing” to Say Before Apple's iPhone Event

7 monthes ago   |   By iPad Insight

It's been a tough month for Apple's poor security team. It looked like they had a pretty tight lid on things ahead of WWDC last year, as the new iPad Pro productivity features and some other items came as a surprise. Today, not so much. They can't seem to keep a lid on anything, software or hardware, at this point. In fact, it looks like they just gave away some of the last bits and pieces of info themselves.
First caught by the site AllThingsHow , Apple had some small new details up on their site this morning. First off, it looks like the official new sizes of the Apple Watches will be...

Your new $1,000+ iPhone won't come with a headphone dongle in the box

7 monthes ago   |   By Ars Technica

Enlarge / Hello dongle, my old friend.
Apple will no longer include a Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone jack adapter with new iPhone purchases.
The removal of the headphone dongle listing on Apple's iPhone product pages was first spotted by The Verge. A quick look through the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine appears to confirm the change. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The change looks like it will apply to the three new iPhone models launched on Wednesday-the iPhone XS , iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR -as well as the older iPhone 8 and iPhone 7 .

Apple's 2018 iPhones Continue to Ship With 5W Power Adapter

7 monthes ago   |   By Mac Rumors

Despite rumors suggesting Apple's 2018 iPhones might ship with an 18W adapter and a Lightning to USB-C cable to enable fast charging right out of the box, that didn't end up being the case.
The iPhone XS, XS Max, and iPhone XR ship with the same standard 5W Power Adapter that's traditionally included with iPhone models. The three devices also include a standard Lightning to USB-A cable, despite the fact that Apple's current Mac lineup has been transitioned to USB-C.
Those who want to use fast charging on the new 2018 iPhones will continue to need to purchase an 18W+ power adapter and a...

One year on and still no mention of Apple AirPower - what's going on?

One year on and still no mention of Apple AirPower - what's going on?

7 monthes ago   |   By Tech Radar

Wireless charging on phones certainly wasn't a new innovation when Apple announced it for the iPhone 8 last September. But that's a very Apple thing to do - show off a not-new innovative feature and make it feel new again. Make it feel, well, very Apple. One of the ways it did this was with the announcement of AirPower , its multifaceted wireless charging pad that had room for an iPhone, an Apple Watch and an Apple Airpod wireless charging case - something that also has never seen the light of day. It was the charging pad to rule them all, except it has never been released. For the...

Apple iPhone XR

Apple iPhone XR

7 monthes ago   |   By Phone Arena

IPhone XR - this, according to rumours, will be the spiritual successor of the iPhone 8 - the budget model in the 2018 iPhone line. It is believed that the handset will adopt the iPhone X's design down to the notch, but the 6.1-inch screen will be a lower-res LCD instead of an OLED. Rumoured specs include a single main camera (instead of a dual one on the XS and XS Max), an Apple A12 SoC, Face ID, and increased battery capacity. The iPhone XR may come in more colour versions than the premium models.

Apple iPhone XS, XS Max and iPhone XR price and release date

7 monthes ago   |   By Phone Arena

Apple's average iPhone selling price hit a record of $652 in 2017, and the continuing sales of the iPhone X, as well as the new trio of notch-y handsets that will be taking its place, are expected to push it to the whopping $738 in the current fiscal year.
This is a rather dreamy scenario for Apple, given that folks are keeping their handsets longer, while the breakneck pace of smartphone market growth is slowly abating. Well, Apple isn't messing with its winning pricing structure for the new 2018 crop of the iPhone Xr, Xs and Xs Max, so, without further ado, here ...
