Future iPhones could feature curved screens and touch-free iOS

Apple is reportedly in the early stages of development on two new technologies that could make their way into the iPhone in the next few years. The first is said to be a curved display, and according to a report from Bloomberg , this iPhone from the future would “curve inward gradually from top to bottom”. Based on this info, we picture the design resembling that of the LG G Flex 2 , not the Samsung Galaxy S9 , though we have doubts that Apple would opt for plastic build materials as LG did in early 2015. The company is also allegedly working to bring a touch-free interface to the iPhone...

Results: curved screens are getting annoying

Samsung's curved edge displays are an impressive technological feat and do look cool. Well, they looked cool and fresh a couple of years ago, now - they are the signature appearance of a Sammy flagship, with its novelty slightly worn off.
While they allow for razor-thin bezels and futuristic looks, they also make it a bit more awkward to hold and use the phone, with accidental touches and thin frames that don't provide much of a grip.
We wondered - are we over the curvy screens? Especially since Samsung has removed flat-screened variants for its top-tier devices and everyone that ...

Comment: Curved screens are a stepping stone toward a high-end foldable iPhone

This morning's report that Apple is working on an iPhone with a curved display sounds like it will be a rather modest change from the iPhone X.
Apple is also developing iPhone displays that curve inward gradually from top to bottom, one of the people familiar with the situation said.
That seems to be referencing a rather subtle curve that may, like the very slight curve at the bottom of the iPhone X, be almost indistinguishable from a flat screen. Technically, of course, the iPhone X display is fully curved, as it folds back underneath itself to make possible the near-bezel-free...
