Google's Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL get three years of guaranteed Android updates

4 monthes ago   |   By Phone Arena

It's never fair to compare the adoption rate of a new iOS version with official Android distribution numbers, as Apple controls its entire mobile ecosystem, while Google allows third-party hardware manufacturers to make their own software choices.
But it's certainly fair to compare Pixel devices with iPhones on a software support level. Unfortunately for Android “purists”, Big G is still not ready to compete in the same league as its Cupertino-based arch-rival.

The representative revealed that Google couldn't fit it in. The Google Pixel 3 just doesn't have the space for two cameras and a speaker inside a notch, as the hardware is...

Pixel 3 only has gesture navigation and it is the future of Android

Pixel 3 only has gesture navigation and it is the future of Android

4 monthes ago   |   By Phone Arena

Gesture-based user interfaces, if well-executed, could be superior to traditional, button-based navigation, especially on bigger screens, where reaching down to the bottom is more cumbersome. Google seems to recognize this, as it introduced gesture-based navigation in Android 9.0 Pie as an alternative to the traditional navbar. With the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, Google has gone a step further to make it the default and only option.
That's right, on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, you can't disable the gesture navigation and return to the familiar ...

Pixel 3 vs. iPhone XS: The Battle of the 'Small' Flagships

4 monthes ago   |   By Wonder How To

The battle between the Pixels and the iPhones has been heating up over the last few years, and this year's bout is the best one yet, with Google's Pixel 3 taking on Apple's iPhone XS.
Why is 2018's lineup the best competition between the two flagships? Because Google and Apple have both eliminated the notion of an inferior smaller phone, as the Pixel 3 and iPhone XS are virtually the same as their bigger XL and Max counterparts. The only things that are different between the smaller and larger models are display size and battery size.
For the first time, both the smaller and bigger...
