IPhone XS and XS Max User Guides Reference AirPower, Suggesting Apple Still Plans to Release It

A user guide included with the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max references the AirPower, suggesting that Apple has not yet shelved the much-anticipated charging mat.
Developer Gavin Stevens shared an image of the guide this afternoon, which clearly has a passage mentioning the AirPower.
"Place iPhone with screen facing up on AirPower or a Qi-certified wireless charger. You can also use the Lightning connector to charge iPhone and connect accessories." It's not clear why Apple left the reference to the AirPower in the iPhone XS and XS Max manuals, but it perhaps suggests that the company planned...

Many are wondering what will happen to the AirPower wireless charging pad from Apple. It was expected to be officially launched at Apple's iPhone event last week, but that clearly did not happen. In fact mentions of the AirPower accessory were subsequently removed from Apple's website , and was followed by reports claiming that the device was “doomed” as it was plagued by all kinds of technical problems. Noticeably missing from last week's Apple event was AirPower, which was originally announced during the September 2017 event. AirPower is a charging mat capable of charging up to three devices simultaneously, but recent reports have suggested Apple has hit a series of engineering issues with the accessory .
Now, the iPhone XS packaging, as well as iOS 12.1, suggest that AirPower isn't dead just yet.
