OnePlus 6T's in-display finger scanner will be of the less precise optical type

There are optical fingerprint readers you can tuck under the screen of a "bezel-less" phone, and then there are superior ultrasonic ones. The OnePlus 6T will be going with the former, it tipped on social media, probably because they are cheaper, easier to produce in mass quantities and do the job satisfyingly well.
