The iPhone X, 8 and 8 Plus sold harder in Q4 than their predecessors

3 monthes ago   |   By Phone Arena

We just had a research firm show a historically low level of interest in Apple's newest iPhones at AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint, and now a consumer study comes to reiterate that fact, again for the US. The iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X have reportedly represented 61% of all iPhone sales in America last quarter, which is much lower than the 72% that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus commanded before them.
Granted, the iPhone X was quite late to the party, but it seems that people were waiting for it, instead of grabbing the other two, more legacy-oriented iPhones, which resulted ...

KGI: Apple to Discontinue iPhone X Rather Than Sell at Lower Price When Second-Generation Model Launches

KGI: Apple to Discontinue iPhone X Rather Than Sell at Lower Price When Second-Generation Model Launches

3 monthes ago   |   By Mac Rumors

Apple will discontinue the first-generation iPhone X when the second-generation model launches later this year, rather than bump the device down its smartphone lineup for lower than $999, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In a research note obtained by MacRumors, Kuo said that Apple keeping the current iPhone X in its smartphone lineup for a reduced price, such as $899, would likely cannibalize sales of the mid-range 6.1-inch iPhone with Face ID that he expects to launch in the second half of 2018 for between $650 and $750.
An excerpt from the research note: iPhone X would...

Report: iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X accounted for 61% of US iPhone sales in Q4

3 monthes ago   |   By 9to5Mac

Apple's new 2017 iPhone models - iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X - made up for about 61% of iPhone sales in the United States, according to a new consumer study from CIRP. This is lower than the 72% share iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus took in the same quarter a year ago.
Comparisons to the 2016 cycle are difficult due to the staggered debut of the iPhone X in November, but it seems like older iPhone models sold better than usual during the holiday season.

Apple Leak Hints At Possible iPhone X Cancellation, ‘Batterygate' Intensifies

3 monthes ago   |   By Inquisitr

It looks like there will be no iPhone X generations in the near future if rumors prove true. According to a popular Apple leakster, the tech giant's flagship smartphone will soon be canceled due to a disappointing performance in the market.
Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst for KGI Securities, said the demand for the iPhone X is weak and will likely be canceled soon, as AppleInsider reported. Kuo believes that the “end of life” of the iPhone X is imminent as Apple is likely to cease production in the summer. In fact, Apple has already reduced production of its anniversary iPhone, according to the...
