Those fancy new Apple Watch Series 4 faces required a lot of work

4 monthes ago   |   By Phone Arena

There are a lot of things to like about the Apple Watch Series 4, starting with a groundbreaking albeit controversial ECG monitoring feature, fall detection, plenty of extra screen real estate, improved cellular signal, a louder speaker, better sound quality, and double the speed of the product's already zippy predecessor.
Some new watch faces may feel like a trivial “upgrade” compared to that long list of meaningful add-ons and enhancements, but sometimes it's the small stuff that sets Apple apart from the competition.
The “endlessly customizable” Infograph face pretty much ...

Apple says it now tracks and scores your calls and email habits to prevent fraud

4 monthes ago   |   By BGR

Apple has been advocating for unbreakable encryption and total user privacy for years, even if that put it at odds with governments around the world. That's not just because it gave it an edge on the competition, forcing rivals to also somewhat embrace encryption and better privacy features, but also because Apple seems to genuinely believe that user data and privacy should be defended at all costs. That said, Apple has just confirmed that it can be just as creepy as any tech giant when it comes to spying on users. Sort of.

Why moving iPhone production to the US would be pointless as well as impractical

Why moving iPhone production to the US would be pointless as well as impractical

4 monthes ago   |   By 9to5Mac

We've examined before the impracticality of Trump's call for Apple to make iPhones in the US, and Tim Cook has spoken on numerous occasions about how it's about skill-sets , not labor costs.
There's also the fact that the move toward fully-automated production mean that any US jobs that were created would soon vanish. And now a new analysis shows just how little the US would gain economically even if it could be done...

Some old iPhone X cases may not fit the iPhone XS, after all

4 monthes ago   |   By Phone Arena

The new iPhone XS has absolutely the same dimensions as the outgoing iPhone X and third-party case makers are listing their X cases as compatible with the XS. Apple, however, doesn't and has removed most mentions of the X from its accessory website.
One of the reasons Apple doesn't want you to browse the X-files anymore is because its first notch-ed phone is being phased out and completely replaced by the XS, even going by the same price tag.
The other could be that the XS camera bump turned out to be slightly larger than ...
