BlackBerry may not be making smartphones itself anymore but its hardware partners who have licensed its iconic brand keep putting new handsets on the market in a bid to capitalize on the brand value of the Canadian company. It appears that some of those upcoming devices could feature wireless charging which would be a first for BlackBerry smartphones. One of the company's hardware partners is believed to have developed a wireless charger.

A new BlackBerry-branded wireless charger could be in the works. Currently, there are no smartphones that feature the Canadian brand's name with support for wireless charging but, nevertheless, a new sketch courtesy of Evan Blass appears to reveal an official accessory is in the works.
Looking at the sketch itself, the charger takes on the shape of a large shield with BlackBerry branding at its center. Future BlackBerry-branded Android handsets may support wireless charging and even a phone-to-PC solution reminiscent of the Samsung Desktop Experience platform, according to a newly leaked sketch of an accessory designed for one such device.
