Apple Watch Series 4 will benefit from pent-up premium wearable demand

6 monthes ago   |   By VentureBeat

ANALYSIS: Three years ago, it was hard for Apple to convince customers to spend even $349 on the entry-level Apple Watch, say nothing of absurd $10,000 to $17,000 18K gold Edition models. But I expect that the story will be significantly different this year. After the ignominious launch of what was later called “Series 0”, Apple Watch s...

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 vs iPhone X: blind camera comparison results

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 vs iPhone X: blind camera comparison results

6 monthes ago   |   By Phone Arena

Which phone takes the better pictures: the new Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or the Apple iPhone X?
Sometimes it's hard to judge, especially if you have a preference for one brand over the other: many people are just quietly biased towards their favorite and the only way to go around this is to have a... blind camera comparison!
This is exactly what we did last week: we published photos from both phones without revealing the brand names behind the photos, so you can only judge the image quality and nothing else. So... what's the result of this experiment? And who wins the blind camera test?
The ...

Apple Watch 4 may have just been certified, suggesting it's coming soon

6 monthes ago   |   By Tech Radar

We're expecting to see the Apple Watch 4 this year, potentially as soon as September, and there's now more evidence that it could be coming very soon, as it may have just been listed by the EEC. While not mentioned by name, model numbers for six unknown ‘personal wearable electronic devices' from Apple have been listed and they're apparently running watchOS 5 , as we'd expect. The listing, spotted by Nashville Chatter , includes models A1975, A1976, A1977, A1978, A2007 and A2008.

Apple Watch Diary: The two things that might sell me on an Apple Watch Series 4

Apple Watch Diary: The two things that might sell me on an Apple Watch Series 4

6 monthes ago   |   By 9to5Mac

We today saw a not-unexpected sign that we're getting closer to some new Apple Watch models: new model numbers have been registered in a Eurasian database. In all likelihood, the new Watches will be announced in September, alongside this year's iPhones.
Although I went from being a smart watch skeptic to not wanting to be without my Apple Watch, I would still say it's not a product I get excited about. A new Mac or a iPad, yes. A new iPhone, somewhat less - though the iPhone X was a definite exception. But the Watch, not so much.
The Apple Watch is very much a utilitarian product for me...

Six new versions of the Apple Watch are coming, according to regulatory application

Applications that manufacturers must submit to different regulatory institutions are often a source of information for unreleased products and today they bring us some insights about the upcoming Series 4 smart watches from Apple.
The information comes from a listing at the Eurasian Economic Commission, which approves devices that are using encryption, sold in Russia and other countries in the region. The application contains six new model numbers for smart watches made by Apple. The differences between models can be purely aesthetic, like different materials for the body of the watch, ...

Time Travel For The Apple Watch Will Be Killed Off In watchOS 5

6 monthes ago   |   By Ubergizmo

If you're an Apple Watch user, you might be familiar with a feature called Time Travel on your smartwatch. If you thought that was a particularly useful feature, then you might be disappointed to learn that when watchOS 5 is launched this fall, it appears that the Time Travel feature will be done away as well. In case you're not familiar with Time Travel, this is a feature of the Apple Watch where if you turn the digital crown clockwise or anti-clockwise, it will fast forward or rewind time. Of course this isn't an actual time travelling device, but rather it can be used if you're looking...
